Reduce your toner usage

Kutana’s flagship software Kappris changes the way Managed Print Service contracts are written by reducing the amount of toner used
Kutana can now announce that their Kappris printing
system will now control the amount of toner used on each print. This will dramatically affect costs and the
environmental impact of a print management policy. These key advantages do not compromise the
quality of the print, ensuring a consistent high quality print output is
maintained.
Photocopier
contracts have always been on cost per
copy basis and with firms moving towards MPS where it does not matter or reward
you for using less toner this development will alter the future of contracts to
reduce costs. Rob Simcock, UK
Sales Director explains, ‘controlling, managing and reducing the amount
of toner used on each copy will result in a reduced cost per copy. This will have a knock-on effect and mean the
cost of your print contract will be lower.
And if you have a contract where you purchase your own toner then this
will obviously mean fewer toners and drums etc will need to be bought and
result in lower costs.’
Using less toner will help an
organisation meet its environmental performance targets, reducing the number of
toner cartridges that are used meaning fewer are discarded and end up in
landfill. With the average law firm employee
printing 10,000 sheets of paper each year this will dramatically affect overall
toner use. While organisations and firms
are always looking to cut print output the paperless office is a myth. What is important is to make sure print is
done in the most efficient way possible.
Kappris printing system does just this by controlling and managing the
amount of toner used, coupled with its rules-based print management this
results in efficient and effective print output.
Kappris will allow each firm to
control the levels of toner used on each print.
This means that for file ,draft copies or any other kind of document the
toner levels can be set low while for client documents and letters the level can be set
higher and will even do both at the same time so no need for more clicks . This is all done through the control panel ,
with the user not needing to set the levels themselves. Even the high levels will still have a
reduced amount of toner coverage without compromising on quality.
